Native Thai, London-based actress and voice-over artist is originally from Bangkok, where she studied and trained in acting and directing at Chulalongkorn University. She worked professionally as an actress and director before moving to London to study for an MA in performance at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Her voice is warm with a smooth tone as well as being fun, fresh and adaptable with a diverse range of character voices. She is very approachable, easy to work with and takes direction very well.
She has recorded voice-over and ADR for the drama feature film, THE IMPOSSIBLE. She has also been the voice of various characters in the BBC and HBO’s television mini‐series, TSUNAMI‐THE AFTERMATH. She recently starred in a BBC Radio 4 Drama, MY CAMBODIAN TWIN, as 'Sophea'.
In addition, she has also voiced a character for the JAMES BOND computer game, BLOODSTONE as well as numerous corporate projects for clients such as DHL, SHELL, TESCO LOTUS, MASTERCARD, UNILEVER, PEPSI, and SEA LIFE, online adverts for MASTERCARD and PAYPAL, as well as recording inflight passenger announcements for OMAN AIR and EDELWEISS AIR.
As well as working as an actress and voice-over artist in Thai and English, Uma is also a language director. In 2014, Uma worked as a language and casting director for GOOGLE’s voice commands (GOOGLE ASSISTANT) project, working with teams in the UK and Thailand. She has also worked on several training videos for DHL and SHELL.
